THE TRAINING RELATED TO THE ORGANIZATION OF SOCIAL WORK WAS HELD AT SSU
On October 17, with the support of the department of Pedagogy and psychology of Sumgayit State University, the Student Trade Union Committee, and the Support Agency for Non-Governmental Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the training "Organization of Social Work with persons exposed to gender-based violence" was organized by the Social Work Public Union.
The head of the department of Pedagogy and psychology associate professor Aytekin Mammadova made a speech and greeted the guests and participants. She emphasized that ensuring gender equality as a component of human rights and freedom in our country is always one of the priority directions of the state policy, and the importance of conducting extensive awareness-raising measures against gender-based violence.
The executive director of Social Work Public Union Sanan Agayev made a speech and gave detailed information on the topic, talked about the gender policy implemented in Azerbaijan. He stated that ensuring gender equality in modern times is relevant in many countries of the world. During the power of the great leader Heydar Aliyev, the steps taken in the direction of gender equality in Azerbaijan, especially the formation of the legislative framework made great contributions to the establishment of a democratic society in our country. Sanan Aghayev pointed out that there is a necessary legal basis for ensuring gender equality in our country, and this is primarily reflected in the Supreme document, the Constitution. In addition, the international documents and conventions that Azerbaijan supports and joins form the basis of the legal framework created in this field.
Sara Aghayeva, deputy director of the department of Work with Institutions of the Social Services Agency under the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection spoke about "The concept of gender; social support and rehabilitation during gender-based violence" and Amina Aliyeva psychologist of the Solidarity Initiative for Health project implemented by the Azerbaijan Delegation of the WHO with the financial support of the European Union on the topic "Psychological traumas suffered by people exposed to gender-based violence, mental disorders caused by traumas, its diagnosis and therapy methods. They generally spoke about the ethical rules that should be taken into account in providing social-psychological support to the victims of gender-based violence.
