III International scientific conference was held  on "Actual issues of applied physics and energetics" organized by Sumgayit State University and Kazan State Energy University on October 27  in the online format.

Besides Azerbaijan universities, scientists from leading universities of Russia, Belarus, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Israel and other countries participated in the conference.

Professor Ramazan Mammadov vice-rector for Science and innovations of SSU opened the conference with his  speech, conveyed the greetings of rector professor Elkhan Huseynov to the participants and talked about the historical development path of SSU over the past 60 years. He said that Sumgayit State University, which was founded in 1962  is taking successful steps by benefiting from advanced international experience, the successes of the national education system, and its rich traditions of 60 years. International and national scientific conferences are successfully held at our university. Bilateral and multilateral international relations are developing  rapidly in various directions, including in the field of education. All these are  a clear indicator of sincere and business relations.

The vice-rector spoke about the  main goal in organizing the conference is to hold discussions  the role of universities in the personnel and scientific-methodological support of the energy system, the modern problems of energy, the importance of power plants in terms of ensuring the socio-economic development of regions and other topics.

Professor Ramazan Mammadov stated that in recent years, great attention has been paid to the development of the energy sector, which is an important element in the realization of the socio-economic progress of our republic. Radical reforms in the electricity industry of our country, consistent and comprehensive measures have been implemented to create a perfect infrastructure in this area. The "Southern Gas Corridor" project has a special place among them. This is not only Azerbaijan"s  contribution to energy security issues, but also has a positive effect on the resolution of broad international cooperation issues. At the moment, both in Karabakh and in Eastern Zangezur  power plants, transformers, substations are  built, and successful works are  carried out in the direction of the implementation of large-scale projects.

Professor Irina Akhmetova  vice-rector for development and innovation of Kazan State Energy University  welcomed the conference participants and stated that the conference was dedicated to a very actual issue. She  emphasized that the purpose of the international scientific conference is to bring together scientists working in various universities, academies and research institutes of the world, to share scientific achievements and experience in this field

The following participants made a speech in various topics: Emil Shamsutdinov- associate professor of Kazan Federal University, "Robotized plasma technologies in industry and bioengineering", Veli Huseynov, professor of the Institute of Physics of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, corresponding member of ANAS  "A new approach to determining the crystal strong electric field", associate professor Alyona Vlasova head of the department of power plants of Atomic and thermal electricity of Kazan State Energy University "Resource-saving technologies for the disposal of highly mineralized acid waste from the ionic part of the combined water treatment unit at Sterlitamaksk NPP", Rena Alizade, associate professor of the department of perspective development of electric power of the Azerbaijan Scientific-Research and Design-Prospecting  Power Engineering Institute, "Azerbaijan"s energy system characteristics of load graphs and the positive effects of their alignment", associate professor Nadir Hajibalayev head of the department of Electrotechnics and electorenergetics of Sumgayit State University “Energy policy in liberated areas – analysis”.They expressed their confidence that the conference will make an important contribution to the improvement of the activities of higher education institutions  for  training highly qualified personnel for the energy system and conducting relevant scientific researches.

Associate professor Tamella Ahmadova dean of the faculty of Physics and electroenergetics of Sumgayit State University  said that the international conference is of great importance in terms of the development of mutual relations. The dean said that SSU has done important work in the field of physics and energetics, as well as in other areas.

Assistant professor Turgay Huseynov - head of the department of Electromechanics of the faculty of Physics and electroenergetics  informed about the further work of the conference. He said that the conference will continue its work for two days in 7 sections after the Plenary session. 151 articles and theses were included in the conference, after checking the anti-plagiarism program, 135 theses and articles were included in the conference program.
