STUDENTS OF SSU VISITED THE HISTORY MUSEUM OF SUMGAYIT
The History museum of Sumgait city was established on November 2, 1967. Consisting of 9 exhibition halls the total area of the museum is 2680 m2.
The theme of the museum exposition is based on the chronological sequence starting from the 16th century to the present day. 15,000 exhibits are preserved in the main fund of the museum.
On the eve of the anniversary of the establishment of the museum, a group of students of the faculty of History and geography of Sumgayit State University went on an excursion to the History museum of Sumgayit under the guidance of deputy dean Farida Jabrayilova.
The museum employee Narmin Karimli gave detailed information to the students about the creation of Sumgait city, then introduced the students to the corner of the model, pottery and copper vessels, which is located in the exhibition hall and reflects the territory of the city.
Students also got information about construction, first enterprises, building works, health and cultural centers, leading specialists in Sumgait in the large exhibition hall located on the second floor of the museum.
The "Ulduz axını" monument dedicated to national heroes and martyrs of Sumgait made an impression of the students, at the same time they watched with interest to the documents and photographs related to the great leader's visits to Sumgait in the corner called "Heydar Aliyev and Sumgait".
