Our martyrs, who sacrificed their lives for the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of our country, are always remembered with respect by our people, attention and care is shown to their families. Sumgayit State University always honors the name of martyrs and support them in every work. A group of professors and students of the faculty of Chemistry and biology of the university visited the family of senior lieutenant Teymur Azizov- a graduate of the faculty, who was heroically martyred in the battles fought in the direction of Fuzuli during the Patriotic war, on the eve of December 31 - Day of Solidarity of World Azerbaijanis and the New Year holiday.

At the meeting, deputy dean of the faculty of Chemistry and biology Sabir Alakbarov spoke about the achievements we won in the 44-day long Patriotic war and the bravery of our heroes for the freedom of our land.

Sabir Alakbarov also noted that the graduates and students of Sumgayit State University also won a name as heroic sons worthy of the Motherland in these battles.

During the conversation, they talked about the heroism and bravery of the martyr Teymur Azizov, remembered his exemplary student years at Sumgayit State University.

Family members noted that Teymur Azizov considered martyrdom the highest point.

We should note that Teymur Azizov-a lieutenant of the Azerbaijan Army fought in the battles for the freedom of Jabrayil and Fuzuli during the Patriotic war. Teymur Azizov was martyred on October 6 during the Fuzuli battles. According to the Decree of the president of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev dated December 15, 2020, Teymur Azizov was posthumously awarded the "For the motherland" medal for participating in military operations for ensuring the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan and honorably fulfilling his duties during the execution of the tasks assigned to the military unit. According to the Decrees of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, dated November 26, 2020 and December 24, 2020, Teymur Azizov was posthumously awarded the medal "For the liberation of Jabrayil"  and “For liberation of Fuzuli” for participating in the military operations for the liberation of Fuzuli and Jabrayil regions of Azerbaijan from occupation.
