On March 2, an event called "State Security Service is one of the main pillars of the state" was held at Sumgayit State University.

First, rector professor Elkhan Huseynov and head of the Sumgayit City department of the State Security Service Natig Samadov paid tribute to the memory of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev by laying flowers to the bust erected in the university lobby.

At the Heydar Aliyev Center named after the Great Leader Natig Samadov inspected all periods of the rich life and activity of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev, including his visits to foreign countries as the president of independent Azerbaijan, meetings with statesmen and books dedicated to the Great Leader.

Rector professor Elkhan Huseynov opened the event attended by professors and students of the university and talked about the importance of the event. He stated that the State Security Service wrote the glorious pages of history with its successful activities in the direction of the reliable protection of our national interests and security.After the restoration of state independence in our country, Azerbaijan faced the threat of military aggression by Armenia, separatism and the loss of statehood, a deep political and economic crisis, and the rampage of illegal armed gangs and criminal groups. It was in such circumstances that our Great Leader Heydar Aliyev returned to political leadership at the insistence of the people. Only after that, the country was saved from the civil war, the rule of law and socio-political stability was restored, and the foundation of a democratic, legal state was laid.

The rector spoke about the 25-year activity of National Leader Heydar Aliyev in the security agencies. He also noted that Heydar Aliyev, the national leader of the Azerbaijani people, ensured that the security agencies of our country served the interests of our people and made invaluable contributions to the training of professional national personnel. This policy, which was founded by the Great Leader played an exceptional role in the establishment of stability in independent Azerbaijan. He emphasized that the State Security Service stands out for its special activity in the direction of raising and educating young people in Azerbaijan in the spirit of patriotism, to the national, loyalty to the state. The holding of such meetings plays an important role in the education of our youth and their upbringing in the spirit of patriotism.

After that, Natig Samadov-the head of Sumgayit City department of SSU greeted the professors and students of the university and expressed his gratitude to rector professor Elkhan Huseynov for the conditions created for the event.Thanks to the thought-out and visionary policy of our head of state,today Azerbaijan ranks among the leading countries of the world in terms of security. Stating that the main factor against the security of our country for nearly 30 years was the policy of aggression carried out by Armenia, Natig Samadov noted that a new security system was formed in the region as a result of the victory gained by Azerbaijani Army in the Patriotic war and the destruction of Armenian fascism under the decisive leadership of the Commander-in-Chief. After the Patriotic war, the destructive actions of the forces living with revanchist ideas, who do not want to come to terms with the real situation can be observed in the region. Malicious forces that do not pay attention to the development and progress of Azerbaijan"s statehood are trying to use young people for their plans today in order to realize their dirty intentions.
