On April 13, an online Master class was held within the framework of the "Year of Heydar Aliyev" jointly organized by the department of Economics of the Faculty of Management of Nakhchivan University and the department of World economy and marketing of the faculty of Economics and Management of Sumgayit State University.

Nakhchivan University vice-rector for Teaching and educational affairs, associate professor Nurlana Aliyeva spoke about the historical services of the Great Leader in the establishment of modern Azerbaijan statehood and expressed gratitude to the rectors of Nakhchivan University and Sumgayit State University for their support in holding the event on this topic.

Shafa Aliyev, professor of the World economy and marketing department of Sumgayit State University, doctor of Economic sciences, head of UNEC Karabakh Economic Research Center, member of the Expert Council on Economic Sciences of the Higher Attestation Commission under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, conducted the master class. Stating that the declaration of 2023 as the "Year of Heydar Aliyev" in our country by the Decree of President Ilham Aliyev is an expression of the gratitude of the Azerbaijani people to the National Leader, Shafa Aliyev noted that the foundation of the sustainable development of the republic was laid thanks to the Great Leader"s economic policy during the first term of his leadership.As a result of this  the priority development of the specialized areas of the agro-industrial complex, the preparation and implementation of complex programs for it to occupy a worthy place in the territorial division of labor bore its proper fruit in 1970-1985.

Doctor of Economic Sciences, professor Shafa Aliyev reminded that after the collapse of the USSR and the nominal restoration of state independence in Azerbaijan, chaos prevailed due to the incompetence of those in power, and those who were unable to manage the state led the people to disaster, and that the civil conflict intensified in the country, and as a result, the Armenian state expanded its occupied territories with the material and moral support of its defenders and  emphasized: "At such a moment, the outstanding statesman Heydar Aliyev, who returned to political power in Azerbaijan for the second time with the continuous calls of his people, risked his life for the salvation of the people despite numerous barriers, dangers and problems, and dedicated the rest of his life to the people of Azerbaijan, whom he loved more than his own life."

Noting that as a result of the historical efforts of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev, an independent and national interest-based model of socio-economic development was formed in Azerbaijan during the years 1993-2003, Shafa Aliyev concluded his opinion: "Today, in addition to commemorating the memory of the Great Leader with deep respect, we are obliged to contribute to the realization of the socio-economic development model that was formed by him successfully developed by the President of the country, Ilham Aliyev.

At the end of the master class, head of the department of Economics of Nakhchivan University, associate professor Hasan Mammadov, head of the department of Business Organization and Management of Sumgait State University, associate professor Galib Huseynov, dean of the faculty of Management of Nakhchivan University Tural Mammadzade, head of the department of Economics of SSU, associate professor Lala Mahmudova, head of the department of Finance  and accounting of SSU associate professor Logman Abdullayev, head of the department of World Economy and Marketing of SSU, associate professor Malahat Panahaliyeva, student of the faculty of Economics of Nakhchivan University Nihad Hasanov spoke about the historical services of Great Leader Heydar Aliyev and stated that it is important to hold similar Master classes.

Dean of the faculty of Economics and Management of SSU  associate professor Aynura Yahyayeva, as well as teachers and students of the faculty of Management of Nakhchivan University participated in the master class.
