In connection with the 100th anniversary of the birth of Heydar Aliyev, the founder of the independent state of Azerbaijan, a brilliant politician and a powerful statesman, in order to further strengthen the study of the great leader"s rich political heritage, honorable life and activities by the young generation, the 4th year students of the faculty of Philology of Sumgayit State University organized a series of events and conducted scientific seminars in the institutions where they worked.

On May 3, one such event took place in Sumgayit City No. 4 and No. 12 secondary schools.

In secondary school No. 4, a literary and artistic event dedicated to the memory of National Leader Heydar Aliyev called "Our language that has existed for 100 years" was held in the Great Assembly hall of the school. The event was prepared by the students of the 922nd group of the "Azerbaijani language and literature" specialty together with the 8th and 9th grade students of the school. Student intern Aytaj Salmanova declared the event open and gave the floor to Zohra Gafarova, deputy dean for training and education of the faculty. She expressed her gratitude to the students intern and the school management for the organization on behalf of the dean of the faculty. Then she spoke about the meaningful and perfect life path of the Great Leader, his struggle for the nation and our statehood.

Later, after the presentation of slides and videos dedicated to the Great Leader"s life, the event continued with schoolchildren"s literary and artistic compositions, poetry and various musical numbers.

The floor for the speech was given to the head of the department of Azerbaijani language and its teaching methodology, associate professor Buyukkhanim Eminli. She said that language policy occupies a very important place in the large-scale political and ideological activities of the National leader of the Azerbaijani people, Heydar Aliyev. Mrs.Buyukkhanim explained that the Great Leader treated the Azerbaijani language not only as a means of communication, but as a national treasure of a nation with an ancient history, rich culture, and a certain social and cultural position in the modern world.

At the end of the event, the word was given to the director of the school, Saadat Mammadova. Mrs. Saadat congratulated the students intern and thanked the organizers. She expressed her special gratitude to the university management for preparing such skilled and experienced students.

The next event was prepared by the students of the IV year group 925 of the Psychology major, who were on industrial experience at secondary school No. 12 named after N.Tusi in Sumgayit city. The first speech was given to Zohra Gafarova, deputy dean for training and education of the faculty of Philology, at the scientific-practical seminar "Azerbaijani education in Heydar Aliyev"s policy" dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev.

She stated that Heydar Aliyev was the architect and founder of the reform in the field of national education construction in independent Azerbaijan. His return to power on a rescue mission made it possible to prevent decline in education as well as in all areas of socio-economic, political and cultural life of Azerbaijan, the operation of educational institutions was restored, and created historical conditions for the establishment of the education system based on the principles of independent statehood. The seminar continued according to the program. Student intern Tahir Mammadli, who acted as both presenter and speaker, was selected from other students with his presentation entitled "Educational system in the conditions of globalization". Later, Jeyhuna Huseynzade gave speech on "Heydar Aliyev and Azerbaijani education", Zeynab Kazimova on "Possibilities of personality formation in the education system", and Nurlan Rajabov on "Teacher-pupil relations as a means of stimulation and motivation".

At the end, the director of the school, Reyhan Bakhshiyeva, head of the department of pedagogy and psychology, associate professor Aytekin Mammadova, and head of industrial practice, senior lecturer Sevinj Rzayeva also spoke, thanked the students intern for the seminar and wished them success in their future lives.
