EMPLOYEES OF SSU WERE ON A BUSINESS TRIP TO BRANDENBURG TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY COTTBUS-ZENFTENBERG (BTU) OF THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF GERMANY
On May 8-14, 2023, the delegation of Sumgayit State University - director of Strategic Development Center associate professor Gunel Pashayeva and head of Quality Assurance Department Narmin Hasanova were on a business trip to Brandenburg Technical University of the Federal Republic of Germany. During the visit, the university staff got to know the material and technical base of campuses of BTU
located in Cottbus and Zeftenberg, academic staff, research laboratories and teaching organization. Contentful and detailed discussions between SSU and BTU delegation showed that the universities agree cooperation. It should be noted that this cooperation reflected all possible directions.
The university employees met with Mareike Kunze director of International relations Office of BTU. During the meeting, the International relations office provided detailed information on typical procedures, mutual requests and proposals for establishing relations between the two universities.
During the visit, the SSU delegation got to know the dual education, dual diploma and various programs, as well as the scientific-research and production laboratories of the universities.
As a logical conclusion of the productive meetings, SSU employees and representatives of machine building, electrical engineering and energy systems faculty of BTU noted that they were interested in developing a joint dual diploma program and both institutions have certain points in common in this regard.The meetings were held with senior engineer Dr. Ralf Ossenbrik coordinator of the advanced constructions and materials technologies specialty related to the dual diploma program, dean of the faculty of Environmental and Natural Sciences Prof. Dr.Michael Schmidt. Dr. Ralf Ossenbrik made a presentation in this direction.
It was noted by BTU that SSU graduates can apply for a master's program in various specialties. In addition, it was declared that they were ready for the implementation of student and teacher mobility and exchange programs.
As part of the program of meetings, the employees of SSU, also visited the electric car manufacturing plant of the Volkswagen company in Dresden.
During the visit, the SSU delegation was led by the head of the department of Metalworking machine tools of BTU, deputy dean of the faculty of Machine-building, electronics and electrical systems, prof. Dr. Sylvia Simon, other academic staff of the university, our compatriots, doctoral student of BTU Ilgar Abbasov, research worker Dashgin Turabov and Mahabbat Suleymanov accompanied.
Within the framework of the visit, the SSU delegation had a meeting with the ambassador's adviser and a secretary for Culture and education at the embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan located in the Federal Republic of Germany. Discussions were held in the direction of cooperation between SSU and the embassy in the field of education at the meeting. Embassy representatives noted that they have a positive attitude to cooperation with SSU.
