On May 18, an event called "I am proud to be an Azerbaijani!" was held within the framework of "Heydar Aliyev Year" with the joint organization of the department of Mathematics and its teaching methodology of SSU and secondary school number 14 named after Adil Ibrahimli.

First, the dear memory of the National Leader of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Heydar Aliyev, was commemorated with a minute"s silence.

Fatma Bayramova, director of secondary school No. 14 named after Adil Ibrahimli, gave an introductory speech, said that the current year was declared "Year of Heydar Aliyev" in connection with the 100th anniversary of the birth of the National Leader of the Azerbaijani people, Heydar Aliyev by the Decree of Mr. President Ilham Aliyev. She was speaking about the multi-faceted activities of the Great Leader, the founder of modern Azerbaijan statehood, which covered all areas of our social and political life, also noted that the political course of the National Leader, which determines the development of the Azerbaijani education, especially the primary and secondary education.

Later, the event continued with an interesting presentation by Ilaha Abdullazadeh, a student intern of the 416th group of the faculty of Mathematics. Presentation  started with these questions - "Who is a personality?", "Can we consider ourselves a personality?", "Which historical personalities do you know?. About genius Heydar  Aliyev was talked about in the presentation. After the screening of the presentation, the video titled "The honorable life of the Great Leader" was received with interest by the participants of the event.

The event, which continued with poems about Heydar Aliyev by students of Sumgayit city secondary school No. 14 named after Adil Ibrahimli, as well as songs  about the National Leader, the national and moral values of Azerbaijan. Javid and Aylin, students of "7e" grade of the school, made a speech about Heydar Aliyev.

After the screening of the video, "What do you mean by 100?" and the quiz which held on the "kahoot.com" digital platform aroused special interest with questions about the life and political activities of the Great Leader.

Then the head of the department of Mathematics and its teaching methodology associate professor Maftun Heydarova said her opinion about the event organized by student intern  Ilaha Abdullazadeh . She expressed her deep gratitude to the director of the school, Mrs.Fatma, and the teaching staff for supporting students in internship. Later, she gave extensive information about the life and political activities of Great Leader Heydar Aliyev.

Then, the speech of Vusala Suleymanova, senior lecturer of the department of Mathematics and its teaching methodology, on "The highest value given to the teacher"s work" was listened to. At the same time, the deputy dean of the faculty, associate professor Mahammadali Mammadov and associate professor Matlab Agayarov spoke about the event.

In the end, the dean of the faculty of Mathematics, associate professor Khalida Hasanova, noted in her speech that in connection with the declaration of 2023 as the "Year of Heydar Aliyev" in our country according to the Decree of President Ilham Aliyev, with the aim of studying the rich statehood heritage of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev .

A series of events were also held in our university under the leadership of SSU rector, professor Elkhan Huseynov. In this regard, it was commendable that a student in internship of our faculty organized an event on the theme "I am proud to be an Azerbaijani". She thanked the school management for the conditions for students in internship in order to express their potential and characterized the organizing of such events as an expression of the educational policy founded by National Leader Heydar Aliyev.

After the event, the director of secondary school No. 14 introduced the event participants to the museum named after the Hero of the Patriotic War, Martyr Adil Ibrahimli, which  located in the school. Mrs. Fatma noted that Adil A Ibrahimli was born on September 9, 1992 in Sumgait. In 1999-2008, he finished the 9th grade at Sumgayit city No. 14 secondary school, and in 2008, he was admitted to Jamshid Nakhchivanski Military High School for continuing his education. After graduating from that high school in 2011, Adil Ibrahimli entered the Azerbaijan Higher Military School named after Heydar Aliyev. In 2015, he graduated from the military school and received the rank of lieutenant. After passing the training course as an officer at the Training Center, he started serving in the Azerbaijani army. In 2017, Adil, who was admitted to the Military Academy, graduated with honors from the "Commando" course in Turkey while working there. He participated in the 44-day Patriotic war for Murovdag, as well as in the battles of Sugovushan, Fuzuli, Hadrut, Khojavand, Shusha. Adil İbrahimli, whose last combat mission was in Shusha, reached the peak of martyrdom on November 7, 2020.

After getting acquainted with the museum, the university employees shared their impressions in the memorial notebook named after the martyr Adil Ibrahimli.
