A LECTURE WAS HELD IN THE FORMAT OF A JOINT LESSON AT THE FACULTY OF PHILOLOGY OF SSU
On May 19, a lecture in the format of a joint lesson dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev was held at the faculty of Philology of Sumgayit State University. In this project, the strategic goals of the Strategic Development Plan (SDP) of SSU were considered. Thus, in accordance with paragraph 1.2.3 of the approved Action Plan for 2023 regarding the implementation of the SDP, it was planned to ensure more effective conduct of subjects in all specialties.
The lecture was organized by staff member of the department of literature of Azerbaijan and foreign countries - Afiga Aliyeva, Ph.D. in philology, from the subject "Literature of Turkic peoples" taught in group No. 934, from the subject "Azerbaijani literature” on the theme "Kyrgyz literature" by associate professor Tore Mammadova.
First, the dean of the faculty, associate professor Sevinj Hamzayeva, made a speech and noted the importance of the joint lesson project dedicated to the Great Leader. First, she talked about the role of Great Leader Heydar Aliyev in the state building, in the field of literature and education. He said that within the framework of the Great Leader"s 100th anniversary, different events were held at the university. Today, a joint lesson based on the connection the subjects literature of Turkic peoples" and Azerbaijani literature was dedicated to the anniversary of the Great Leader and organized in accordance with the relevant provisions of the regulation on Education.
Then a video clip was shown, reflecting the Great Leader"s cultural policy and the value which he gave to Kyrgyz literature.
Afterwards, Afiga Aliyeva talked about the services rendered by the Great Leader to the further development of literary, cultural and scientific relations between the Turkic states, his attention and concern for Kyrgyz literature and culture. He noted that the Great Leader participated in the events which held in Kyrgyzstan on August 28, 1995 on the occasion of the 1000th anniversary of the "Manas" epos- an ancient folklore monument of the Kyrgyz people. Heydar Aliyev mentioned the famous Kyrgyz writer Chingiz Aitmatov who has given beautiful works to the treasury of world literature, is the pride of both Kyrgyzstan and the Turkic world."
After that, Afiga Aliyeva informed the students about the history of Kyrgyz literature and its important points. While talking about the work of Kyrgyz poet Gasim Tynistanov, Tore Mammadova spoke about the similarities between Kyrgyz and Azerbaijani poetry. The poems "Goygol" written by Mikayil Mushfiq and Ahmet Javad on the same topic were compared with Gasim Tynistanov"s poem "Isıg gole". It turned out that all three poets in the mentioned poems they wrote on the same topic in the Soviet era highlighted the issue of the freedom of their people and glorified the ideas of freedom.
Referring to the work of Chingiz Aytmatov, Afiga Aliyeva talked about his works "Jamila", "White Ship", "Day is equal to age", "Cassandra"s mark”,"Doomsday", "Eternal Bride". Docent Tore Mammadova talked about the similarities between those works and Azerbaijani literature. She analyzed similar themes, similar images, and similar plots with the works of Chingiz Aytmatov, and the works of Yusif Samadoglu "The day of murder", Elchin "Death sentence", Isa Huseynov "Mahshar" . It was also emphasized that the realities of the Soviet era, the topic of repression, appeal to myths, and the description of similar fates actually originated from real events in the works.
In the end, associate professor Gunel Pashayeva, director of the Strategic Development Center of SSU, noted that regularly organizing such lectures within the framework of a joint lesson project serves to establish logical connections between different subjects and develops students" analysis ability.
