On May 24, the presentation of course work assignments of a group of students studying in the first year of the Mathematics teaching specialty was held under the organization of the department of Mathematics and its teaching methodology at the mathematics faculty of Sumgayit State University. The event was attended: by the dean of the faculty of Mathematics, associate professor Khalida Hasanova, the head of the Teaching department of the Teaching Methodology Center, Sabir Behbudov, the head of the department of Mathematical analysis and theory of functions, professor Nabi Gurbanov, the head of the department of Informatics, Valeh Mustafayev, the head of the department of Differential equations and optimization, professor Fikret Feyziyev, the head of the department of Mathematics and its teaching methodology, head of the event associate professor Maftun Heydarova, associate dean of the faculty of Mathematics, associate professor Mahammadali Mammadov and faculty members.

The event was opened by the head of the department of Mathematics and its teaching methodology, associate professor Maftun Heydarova, who noted that the knowledge level of students at SSU was evaluated based on a multi-point system. Course work was one of the main elements of this evaluation. The purpose of the course work was to teach the student to work with scientific information with educational material and independently to instill the ability to regularly increase the professional level in the future, to lay the foundation of self-organization and self-education skills in them. If we take into account that the student"s course work should provide an opportunity for the development of his creative potential and realizing of professional skills, then the organization of this work in the form of a presentation plays a special role in their development as a future teacher.

Docent Maftun Heydarova also noted that the strategic goals of the Strategic Development Plan (SDP) of SSU were taken into account in this project. So, 1.2 of the Action Plan approved for 2023 regarding the implementation of SIP. the requirements of the strategic goal have been considered.

Docent Maftun Heydarova noted that 7 students of the Mathematics teaching specialty will present their course work on Elementary mathematics. She wished the students success. Then the students started to present their reports. Each student was given 10 minutes for the presentation.

Students of the SSU faculty of Mathematics group No. 451-"Subsets of real numbers" by Mehrelizade Ali, "Interesting facts about polyhedra" by Shabnam Aliyeva, "Types of polyhedra" by Safarova Khumar, "Bodies of rotation" by Abdullayeva Aynur, "Prism and its elements" by Talibli Pari and the students of group No. 451A by Fatima Mammadova "Dihedral angles" and "Interesting information about prisms and pyramids" by Aliyeva Arzu made their reports. Then they answered questions from the audience.

The dean of the faculty of Mathematics, associate professor Khalida Hasanova, made a speech and emphasized that the course work of the student in the credit system served to improve the quality of specialist training. She stated that the acceptance of course work tasks by teachers in the form of presentations motivated students. In particular, it was commendable that students used computer technology and interactive methods. She noted that she liked the students" presentations and suggested that they should be evaluated out of 20 points each of them.

Later, professor Nabi Gurbanov, head of the department of Mathematical analysis and theory of functions, professor Fikret Feyziyev, head of the department of Differential equations and optimization, noted that the organization of such events plays an important role in the development of students and gave their recommendations to the students.

In the end, Sabir Behbudov, head of the teaching department of the Teaching Methodological Center, made a speech and emphasized that turning into a higher education institution offering high-quality educational services is part of the Strategic Development Plan of SSU. Today, the presentation of course work assignments organized by the department of Mathematics and its teaching methodology can be considered as a strategic goal aimed at improving the educational process at a level that will allow students to form the necessary knowledge, skills and habits in order to ensure sustainable development. He gave his recommendation to the students who made presentations and wished them success in their future studies.

The results were evaluated on the basis of the openness of the topic, the level of interest of the listeners, and the criteria of professionalism. Each of the students was evaluated with 20 points.
