On September 22, at the Heydar Aliyev School of the university, a seminar was held on the topic "Contract of the Century" written in the annals of our independent republic as a glorious page of the new oil strategy.

Rector of the university Rufat Azizov, who opened the event, first greeted the participants and congratulated them on the successful completion of the local anti-terrorist operation conducted by the Armed Forces of the Republic of Azerbaijan on September 19: the operation lead  the way for eternal prosperity in the Karabakh economic region, which is an ancient and integral part of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Continuing Rufat Azizov's words, "On the joint development of the Azeri, Chirag and the deep-lying part of the Guneshli field in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea and the distribution of oil production" 29years has passed which  the agreement signed between the State Oil Company (SOCAR) and the world's leading oil companies. Continuing his words, the rector emphasized the historical importance of the "Contract  of the Century" and that this agreement was signed as a result of the decisive position of National Leader Heydar Aliyev and the diplomatic skill of Ilham Aliyev, who participated in the negotiation process as the head of the Azerbaijani delegation at that time. Rufat Azizov recalled said that  "Contract of the Century" was signed in a very complicated and difficult period, which were the geopolitical environment around Azerbaijan at that time, practical changes aimed at protecting our national interests, all these were reflected  in the document with the will of the Great Leader. The rector of the university stated that the signed agreement is the starting point for the current and future development of the oil and gas industry of our country and Azerbaijan in general: "The new oil strategy, which was established by our National Leader Heydar Aliyev, is being successfully continued today under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev."

The rector also talked about the purposeful policy of converting the oil capital owned by the people of Azerbaijan and the state into human capital, the construction works carried out in the country during the past period, the education of young people in the world's leading universities and the successful implementation of the State Program for 2022-2026.

Dean of the faculty of History and geography, professor, honored teacher Adil Bakhshaliyev spoke about the economic and political contributions of the "Contract of the Century" to our country in his report on "The only person capable of realizing the "Contract of the Century" - Heydar Aliyev: "With the leadership of National Leader Heydar Aliyev the "Contract of the Century" is included in the list of the largest contracts in the world both in terms of the amount of hydrocarbon resources and the volume of investments.

These participants made a report in different topics: associate professor Musa Mustafayev, head of the department of Chemistry and its teaching methodology, "The contract of the Century created a foundation for comprehensive and rapid development of independent Azerbaijan", head of the department of Finance and accounting, associate professor Logman Abdullayev, "The contract  of the Century is a contribution to international cooperation, global and regional security", IV year student of   faculty of Engineering Elvira Ibishova "The role of oil strategy in our 44-day Victory history". They noted that the "Contract of the Century" gave a strong impetus to the sustainable development of various sectors of the country's economy, especially in the oil industry and human capital.
