On November 3, organized by Sumgayit State University"s Innovation and Creativity Center, "What is a startup?" training was held.

First, the vice-rector for social affairs and public relations of the university, associate professor Elmar Khalilov, delivered the greetings of rector Rufat Azizov to the participants and spoke about the importance of the training. He said that youth is not only the future of the country, but also the present. Significant steps are being taken in the field of identifying and supporting talented and creative young people in the country. Noting the importance of such trainings for revealing the innovative views, ideas and talents of young people, the vice-rector informed about the work done for the development of the student start-up movement at the university. He pointed out that our students participate in various start-up competitions held in the country as a team and win various achievements. As a university, we always support them in this field.

Said Aliyev, Startup Mentor of the Center, gave information about the activities of the Innovation and Creativity Center and innovative projects. Then he touched on interesting points about what a startup is, which projects can be called a startup, and how to create a startup and succeed in the market. He answered the students" questions about it. He emphasized that the main source of creation of a new start-up is a creative idea. A startup is a development-oriented initiative that eliminates the need for the realization of any non-existent idea or the improvement of any pre-existing idea, and sometimes turns that idea into a need. Another important factor for the creation of a startup and its success is the potential demand in the market for that idea. Therefore, these factors should be prioritized when developing new projects. Then the head of the scientific department, associate professor Samir Orujov spoke about the importance of start-up projects and the active participation of students in these projects.

He pointed out that the organization of such trainings is an important contribution to the development of students as professionals in the future and to their deep mastery of the secrets of their chosen specialties.
