Victory Day was celebrated at SSU
An event dedicated to Victory Day was held at Sumgayit State University on November 7.
Sumgayit State University Rector Rufat Azizov, 1st Deputy Head of Sumgayit City Executive Power Teymur Samadov, Head of Sumgayit State Service for Mobilization and Conscription Natig Garayev, Deputy Head of Sumgayit City Department of State Security Service Sabuhi Aliyev, Sumgayit City Prosecutor assistant Imran Ahmadov, Sumgayit military prosecutor Raul Shahverdiyev, head of Absheron-Khizi Regional Education Department Ilhama Abdullayeva, head of Absheron-Khizi Regional Culture Department Farid Gurbanzade, head of Absheron-Khizi Regional Youth and Sports Department Fuad Babayev, head of Eastern Zangezur Regional Culture Department Rashad Aliyev and members of martyr families, veterans participated.
First, Rector of the university Rufat Azizov and the guests paid tribute to the memory of the national leader Heydar Aliyev by arranging flowers in front of the bust erected in the lobby of the university. Then they visited the memorial monument of students and graduates who rose to the height of martyrdom in the yard of the university and laid flowers in front of the monument.
At the event, the photo exhibition "Color of Victory" was viewed, the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was played and a video was shown. Rector of the university Rufat Azizov made a speech and congratulated the participants on the Victory Day. He said that the glorious Azerbaijan Army, which liberated our lands in the 44-day Patriotic War, with the determination and leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, successfully continued the political line and ideas of the national leader Heydar Aliyev, gave our people a magnificent Victory Day. Rufat Azizov also noted that today we say with a great sense of pride that a powerful state has become a powerful state thanks to the successful policies and wise decisions of the President of the Independent Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Ilham Aliyev, whose solid foundations were laid by the savior of our people, our great leader Heydar Aliyev. Thanks to the determination of our victorious Commander-in-Chief, skillful leadership skills, the lives of our martyrs, the blood of our veterans, and the unification of our people like an iron fist around the head of the country, the most glorious and bright pages of our victory chronicle were written on September 27, 2020. It has been 3 years since the Victory Day. But this year's Victory day is very different that we celebrated in the previous two years. The difference is that on November 8, 3 years after our historic victory, the Azerbaijani Army will hold a military parade in Khankendi. All these are historical successes. Teymur Samadov, the first deputy head of Sumgayit City Executive Authority, spoke about the people's trust and wise policy to Commander-in-Chief. He noted that the Patriotic War, which resulted in the liberation of our lands from enemy occupation, became the brightest page of our history, a source of pride of the Azerbaijani people. On October 15 of this year, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Ilham Aliyev, gave our people the joy of another victory. By raising our tricolor flag in our ancient and eternal lands - Khankendi, Khojaly, Khojavand, Aghdara, Askaran, our head of state proved that the people and state of Azerbaijan are strong and the owner of their lands. Major General Natig Garayev, head of the State Service for Mobilization and Conscription of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Sumgayit, spoke about the path to victory achieved thanks to the determination of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, the unshakable unity of our people and the heroism of our soldiers in the 44-day Patriotic War.He spoke about the bravery of our soldiers, the attention and care of the Azerbaijani state to the families of martyrs and war participants. He said that the glorious Victory won in the Patriotic War not only restored historical justice, but also created a reliable foundation for peace and prosperity in the South Caucasus. At the event, the play "Oyuncaq mocuzesi" was shown, which deals with about the bright pages of the Patriotic War, which lasted for 44 days and resulted in the return of our occupied territories, including Nagorno-Karabakh.
