OUR COLLABORATORS WHO SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED THE ‘BRITISH COUNCIL RESEARCHERS CONNECT’ ONLINE PROGRAM WERE AWARDED CERTIFICATES
From December 11 to 23, 2023, 30 Azerbaijani researchers engaged in various scientific researches participated in the ‘British Council Researchers Connect’ program.
On January 18, 2024, the researchers who successfully completed the training were invited to the residence of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland in Azerbaijan to participate in the certificate presentation ceremony.
Nargiz Hajiyeva, director of the British Council for Azerbaijan, opened the presentation ceremony with a speech, welcomed the participants and emphasized how important the training is for researchers.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to Azerbaijan Fergus Auld congratulated the participants in Azerbaijani and talked about the purpose of the training. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary emphasized that it is useful to benefit from foreign experience by creating a network of researchers engaged in research from various higher education institutions and scientific research institutes in Azerbaijan and exchanging ideas with trainers of prestigious universities of the world.
Fergus Auldin, who ended his speech by wishing the participants success in their scientific activities, and Nargiz Hajiyeva, director of the British Council for Azerbaijan, presented them with certificates.
SSU researchers - Director of the Language and Translation Center Zhala Mammadova, senior teacher Ilhama Mammad and  teacher Lamiya Heydarova from the Department of Foreign languages of  Philology faculty,  and senior teacher Nihad Huseynov from the Department World economics and marketing of Economics faculty were distinguished by their active participation in the training.
At the end, commemorative pictures were taken.
It should be noted that the researchers who have communication skills in English discussed the methods of innovative approach in their scientific work, the ability to increase activity over the international network, financial issues of scientific research, tested successful results in a group discussion in seminar sessions. In online interactive sessions lasting two weeks, 3 hours a week, researchers met with trainers with various higher education experience, participated in discussions with specialists in conducting scientific research and indexed publishing.
Sessions included an introduction to interactive formats where participants were encouraged to apply learning methods to their research field, and methods of using electronic resources for each module, including the theory and activities of the Researcher Connect program.
The aim of the seminars was to help increase the productivity of scientific researchers from various fields.
The results from this program will be useful in providing researchers as well as their universities or research institutes with a competitive advantage in the rapidly evolving international research environment.
