For this purpose, on January 29, an awarding ceremony was held at the Heydar Aliyev Center of Sumgait State University.
Rector of Sumgait State University Rufat Azizov, Deputy Ambassador of Great Britain to Azerbaijan Edward Evans and his delegation, chairman and members of Sumgait Discussion Club took part in the event.
The Deputy Ambassador of Great Britain to Azerbaijan, Edward Evans, made a speech and congratulated the students. He wished them success both in education and social activities.
Rector docent Rufat Azizov spoke about the importance of the project and the activity of Sumgait State University students. He appreciated the fact that our students participated in such projects and were awarded diplomas and certificates. He pointed out that the "Socio-economic Development Strategy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in 2022-2026", approved by the Decree of President Ilham Aliyev, included the issue of creating a "lifelong learning" mechanism for continuous education of the population. This mechanism will allow the population to participate in training courses in accordance with the requirements of the labor market and obtain the necessary qualifications. In this direction, Sumgait State University has implemented large-scale projects and is preparing personnel according to the labor market demand.
Later, in the project organized by the British Embassy in Azerbaijan and the Sumgait Discussion Club, Maleyka Khankishiyeva, Nigar Aliyeva, third-year students of the faculty of Chemistry and biology, Aysu Khanlarova, a first-year student of the faculty of Mathematics, and Farid Muradov, a member of the club were awarded a diploma.
