‘SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING’ CAMP AT SSU SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED ITS WORK
On February 15, the last day of the 3-day ‘Science and Engineering’ camp at Sumgait State University was successfully completed.
First of all, the camp was opened by Ulvi Gulushov, one of the employees of ‘SOCAR Downstream Management’ LLC, and he made a presentation in order to inform future engineers about the company. Senior production specialist Ahmet Ahmadzadeh and Mechanics manager Farid Novruzov gave detailed information about the company"s production areas, directions of activity, goals and working conditions.
After the presentation, the students who participated in the question-and-answer session of the event were awarded with gifts from ‘SOCAR Downstream Management’ LLC.
In the second presentation part of the camp, Aynura Demirli, an engineer on pressure systems integrity management, known in the Azerbaijan-Georgia-Turkiye region, met with the young people. In the meeting, detailed information was given about the company"s activities and the projects implemented by the company. Opportunities, work and internship programs created for students and graduates were also discussed. Students who showed great interest in Aynura Demirli"s speech asked questions. Answering questions, the BP representative advised students to be active and take advantage of BP"s opportunities for students and alumni.
Within the framework of the ‘Science and Engineering’ camp, the participants went on an excursion to the production areas of SOCAR Polimer LLC. They got a closer look at the plant"s extruder, polymerization units, warehouse and control room. In particular, the laboratories aroused great interest among the participants.
After the tour, the rector of the university, associate professor Rufat Azizov, met with the participants on the last day of the camp, and pointed out that for the first time in the history of the university, the goals set in the ‘Science and Engineering’ camp organized by the ‘Career and Alumni Center’ were achieved. He said that the organization of the camp will be a great contribution to the potential development direction of university-industry cooperation, as well as the meetings organized with specialists of various prestigious companies will have a positive effect on their future careers.
The Rector wished that such large-scale projects serving the sustainable development of young people would continue.
At the end, certificates were presented to the participants of the camp by Rector associate professor Rufat Azizov. Thus, the first ‘Science and Engineering’ camp of SSU concluded its work successfully and with good impressions.
