On April 3, a business meeting was held at Sumgayit State University with the head of the Absheron-Khizi Regional Education Department, as well as the responsible employees of the education sector in Sumgayit and the directors of secondary schools in the city.

The meeting held with the participation of the university administration and faculty deans was opened by the rector of SSU, assoc. prof. Rufat Azizov, and greeted the guests. Expressing his belief that the meeting will be productive and efficient for all parties, Rufat Azizov made an excursion to the path where the only higher education institution of Sumgayit city, which has a population of 500,000 and has the second industrial potential of the country. Speaking about the successes achieved during his more than 60 years of activity, the rector spoke about the priority directions for the university in today's conditions: "Currently, we have unsufficient to do in the direction of high-level staff training in various specialties in 6 faculties operating with professional professors and teachers." The rector spoke about the training of the lecturers professional professors and teachers  in 6 faculties progressive measures carried out in this regard, including the training of English-speaking teachers in Mathematics and Chemistry teaching specialties against the background of today's increasing demand for English-speaking teachers.

The  meeting was held on the eve of the university entrance exams, the rector said that there were numreous issues to be done in the direction of cooperation between the SSU and general education schools in Sumgait: "We would like to see a dynamic progress in Sumgait schoolchildren, who are notable for their successful results in the country's general education institutions, among our students."

Rufat Azizov pointed out that the projects that will ensure the higher education of Sumgait schoolchildren at our university. "Code Academy", "Sabah Hub" are successfully operating, highly qualified teachers from Turkey have been recruited for the groups of 90 people organized in "Sabah". The  rector stated that cooperation works have been established not only in our country, but also in the region and the world, and he spoke about mutual perspectives with the newly established Council of Industrial Enterprises of the university. Rufat Azizov concluded that he believes that the planned programs will optimize the content of education at SSU.

The head of the Absheron-Khizi Regional Education department Ilhama Abdullayeva thanked the rector of SSU Rufat Azizov for the sincere welcome and detailed speech. Pointing out the usefulness of mutual cooperation for all parties, the director of the department, noting that a lot of work has been done in this direction, considered it necessary to continue it.

Ilhama Abdullayeva stated that the general level of students undergoing pedagogical experience in Sumgayit schools is satisfactory, and wished that the practice of giving lectures to students in comprehensive schools by SSU professors and teachers should become a tradition.
