On October 18, Sumgayit State University (SSU) "Debate Club" made its first presentation organized by the Center of Excellence in the new academic year. The chairman of the club, Gunay Ramazanova, who opened the event, reminded that she has been a member of the "Debate Club" since she was a bachelor"s student at SSU, she is currently studying in the first year of the master"s degree at the Faculty of Engineering, and she was elected the chairman of the club from the beginning of the new academic year. Emphasizing that the first debate-show will be devoted to the subject of compulsory medical insurance, the floor was given to the director of the Center of Excellence, Ali Rzayev. Ali Rzayev spoke about the history and necessity of the establishment of the Center headed by him. Speaking about the positive aspects of various student clubs at the university, the director of the Center said that new projects are expected from them in the current academic year. Later, a video about the Club"s achievements was shown, and a debate-show on the presented topic began with the participation of new members of the "Debate Club". The debate took place between the "Istiglal" and "Maximalist" teams, which duly represented the university in many all-republic tournaments. Their speeches and questions were received with interest by the audience. First, the debaters shared their thoughts about the speech of the team speakers. Young people have clearly shown that they can develop speaking, research and high-level communication skills as members of the debate club. Speakers of "Istiglal" and "Maximalist" teams Gunay Ramazova and Musa Ahmadov shared their thoughts on the topic with their teams and the audience. After that, the point of view of the other party opposing each speaker was heard. The debate lasted for about an hour and the audience was sufficiently informed about the topic.
