On October 31, an educational event called " Let"s say no to drug addiction for a healthy future" was held at Sumgayit State University according to the Training Plan for the implementation of the "2019-2024 State Program on Illegal Trafficking of Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances". The event was opened by Professor Adil Bakhshaliyev, Dean of the Faculty of History and Geography of SSU, noting the necessity and importance of such educational measures in order to prevent the rapid spread of drugs among young people, and gave his recommendations to the students about drug addiction, which is a scourge of the 21st century, to keep them away from harmful habits. The dean emphasized that favorable conditions have been created at Sumgayit State University for the efficient organization of free time and sports, which is an important factor for them to stay away from harmful habits. Then Ilhama Shammadova, senior teacher of the Department of Civil Defense, Medical and Physical Training of the Faculty of Natural Sciences, gave a speech on the topic "Drug addiction"s effects on human health" and spoke about the harm and addiction of drugs known as "white death", as well as the negative effects of drugs on the human body and the future health effects of drugs. She talked about the serious consequences and the role of young people in preventing this harmful habit. Students of the Faculty of History and Geography, Shamil Babayev, spoke on the topics "Drug addiction is a social problem", and Mardan Huseynov, "Seriously dangerous and harmful habits for our youth and future". At the end, a video about the consequences of drug addiction was shown and discussions were held.
