On December 27, an event was held at Sumgayit State University on the occasion of the Solidarity Day of World Azerbaijanis. The event was jointly organized by the SSU Trade Union Committee and the Student Trade Union Committee. The participants first observed a minute of silence in memory of those who passed away in the plane crash. Delivering the opening speech of the event, Vice-Rector Associate Professor Elmar Khalilov conveyed the congratulations of Rector Rufat Azizov to the staff on the occasion of Solidarity Day and the New Year holiday. Then, the Chairman of the SSU Trade Union Committee Nemat Ibayev and the Chairman of the Student Trade Union Committee Elmin Novruzlu sincerely congratulated the staff on December 31 - Solidarity Day of World Azerbaijanis and the New Year holiday, and wished them success in their scientific and pedagogical activities, and the students success in the upcoming exam session.
