“AIESEC Azerbaijan” international youth organization held an info session for our students
On February 21, an info session of the “AIESEC Azerbaijan” international youth organization was held at Sumgayit State University (SSU). The Vice-Rector for Social Affairs and Public Relations of the University, Associate Professor Elmar Khalilov, made a speech and emphasized the importance of the programs organized by AIESEC in terms of the personal and professional development of young people. He spoke about the active participation of SSU students in such programs. During the info session, Ilaha Gadimova, the Chairman of the Marketing and Public Relations Committee for the “AIESEC Azerbaijan” program, the SSU coordinator, gave information about the activities of the organization, international experience and volunteer opportunities, “Guest Family”, as well as AIESEC membership. She noted that AIESEC operates in more than 120 countries around the world. The activities of the organization began in Azerbaijan in 2006. The main goal of the organization is to identify the leadership potential of young people, contribute to their development, and create opportunities for them to undergo international internships through various programs. Then, Eljan Ibrahimov, Chairman of the Committee for Exchange Programs Abroad of AIESEC Azerbaijan, and Rahima Alimammadova, Marketing Manager, delivered speeches and provided the students with necessary information about the three internship programs of the organization - "Global Volunteer", "Global Talent" and "Global Teacher". They stated that the "Global Volunteer" program is organized on the basis of the UN Sustainable Development Goals and provides volunteer internship opportunities, while "Global Talent" offers young people professional career development-oriented work opportunities in a global environment. They also noted that the "Global Teacher" program provides young teacher candidates with the opportunity to improve their knowledge and skills in the field of teaching and to get acquainted with the education systems of foreign countries. Finally, the students" questions about the programs were answered.
