On February 22, the opening ceremony of the interfaculty volleyball competition was held, organized by the Sports Club and the Student Trade Union Committee of the university in connection with the “Year of Constitution and Sovereignty”. First, the dear memory of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev and our martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the territorial integrity of our republic was commemorated with a minute of silence. Vice-Rector for Social Affairs and Public Relations of the university, Associate Professor Elmar Khalilov opened the competition and specifically noted that such events not only stimulate physical development, but also strengthen healthy competition among students, developing their social skills and team spirit. It should be noted that a total of 6 faculties participated in the competition. The faculties of Economics and Management, Philology, History and Geography, as well as Natural Sciences qualified for the semifinal.
