Training on “Emotional Intelligence, Managing Emotions in the Workplace”
On March 4, a training was held on “Emotional Intelligence, Managing Emotions in the Workplace” at Sumgayit State University, jointly organized by the Trade Union Committee and the Human Capital Management Center. The training was opened by Associate Professor Elmar Khalilov, Vice-Rector for Social Affairs and Public Relations of SSU, he welcomed the participants and emphasized that managing emotions is important for achieving success in personal and professional life. He noted that such trainings help create a healthy working environment among employees. Then, Vice-Rector for Science and Innovations, Associate Professor Elshad Abdullayev, Vice-Rector for International Relations, Associate Professor Konul Abasli spoke about the importance of the training. The training was conducted by speaker Farida Farajova. The speaker of the training, Farida Farajova, gave a speech and provided information about what emotional intelligence is, how an individual can develop the ability to recognize and manage their own emotions and understand the emotions of others. She emphasized that emotional intelligence is not just a concept, but a combination of several skills, and these skills include self-awareness, self-regulation, empathy, motivation and social skills. The training included presentations on these 5 components, and participants were given tasks to identify values, as well as measure their emotional intelligence levels.
