On March 6, an event was organized on the topic of "The Role of Women in Science" at the Faculty of Natural Sciences. The event, moderated by the group chairwoman of the Student Scientific Society, Nubar Rahimova, was opened by the Dean of the Faculty, Professor Rashad Salimov. In his speech, he noted the special interest of Azerbaijani women in science, their rich culture and commitment to their national heritage, and their achievements in this field. He emphasized the importance of encouraging greater activity of women in the field of science in modern Azerbaijan and ensuring gender equality. Then, a video clip about women scientists and their contributions to science prepared by the group chairmen of the Student Scientific Society of SSU was presented. The video was shown about Azerbaijani women scientists, especially our scientists who have achieved great success in their fields in the modern era. Later, the event featured presentations by students of the Faculty of Natural Sciences on the topic “The Past, Present, and Future of Women Scientists in Azerbaijani Science.” Students Raqsana Hagverdiyeva spoke on the topics “Azerbaijani Women Scientists Who Left a Mark in History,” Leyla Tayireva on the topics “Azerbaijani Women Scientists in the Modern Era,” and Matanat Naghili on the topics “Stronger Participation of Women in the World of Science.” At the end of the event, Gulzar Azadaliyeva, associate professor of the Department of Chemistry of the Faculty of Natural Sciences, and Aynur Hashimova, associate professor of the Department of Physics, spoke about the successes of Azerbaijani women in the field of natural sciences.
