The next meeting of the Academic Council of Sumgayit State University (SSU) was held on March 12. The Chairman of the Academic Council, acting rector Aminaga Sadigov, made a speech and congratulated the members of the council on the upcoming Novruz holiday, wishing everyone to continue to participate more actively in the scientific and social life of the university. He informed the participants about the issues on the agenda. In the continuation of the meeting, Vice-Rector for International Relations Associate Professor Konul Abasli reported on the measures taken to implement the Strategic Development Plan of SSU and the approval of the Action Plan for 2025. Then, the Action Plan of SSU for 2025 was approved. Advisor to the rector for IT Programs Ahmad Ahmadzadeh and the Head of the IT Department Sahil Aliyev reported on the current status and renewal of the Information Technology infrastructure of SSU. In connection with the renewal of the IT infrastructure at the university, it was proposed to renew Wi-Fi equipment in all buildings of SSU and establish a central management system. Advisor to the rector for Information Technology Programs, Ahmad Ahmadzadeh has been tasked with preparing an appropriate work schedule for the implementation of the mentioned large-scale works, coordinating it with the relevant structural heads, and ensuring the submission of the final document to the Rector"s Office. Speaking about the expansion of the involvement of students and teachers in international exchange programs, Head of the Department of International Cooperation and Strategic Projects, Habiba Nazirova said that the participation of students and teachers in international exchange programs at Sumgayit State University is always in the spotlight and serious efforts are being made to expand activities in this direction. Director of the Library Information Center of SSU, Leyla Allahverdiyeva provided information about the activities of the center. She noted that a new innovative structure has been created in the center, equipped with an ICT system that meets modern requirements. Regarding the claim of the Regional Ecology and Natural Resources Department No. Scientific Secretary Professor Mukhtar Samedov reported on current issues and granting of scientific titles. It was noted that relevant documents regarding the petition to the Higher Attestation Commission to award the academic title of professor to Professor Ilham Mardanov of the Department of History, Geography and Methodology, the academic title of associate professor to Afag Ganiyeva, associate professor of the Department of Philosophy, Sociology and Political Science, the academic title of associate professor to Natavan Allahverdiyeva, associate professor of the Department of Mathematics and Informatics Teaching Technology, the academic title of associate professor to Lala Aliyeva, the academic title of associate professor to Gulnara Guliyeva, associate professor of the Department of Physics for their scientific and pedagogical activities have been submitted to the Academic Council. After discussions and a secret ballot, it was decided to file a petition with the Supreme Attestation Commission under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan regarding the granting of scientific titles to the mentioned employees.
