1st March is World Civil Defense Day. Declared by the decision of International World Civil Defense Organization the day is celebrated every year as a humanitarian event. With this aim an educative event was held in the university with the organization of Civil Defense and Fire Protection Headquarter.
Senior lecturer of the department of Civil defense, medical and physical preparation Gulnara Alakbarli talked about creation of International World Civil Defense organization, aim of civil defense and significance of educative events. She noted that World Civil Defense Day has been celebrating in member states since March 1, 1972 with the decision of International Civil Defense Organization General Assembly. Azerbaijan entered this organization in 1993. There are more than 50 member countries in the organization. International seminars, meetings and civil defense force and technics exhibition are organized. Main goal is to make citizens and students learn rules of behavior during emergencies, use of personal protective equipment and theoretically and practically teach rules.
In the event, video was demonstrated about visual aids and protection ways from emergency cases and students’ knowledge was checked.
