On April 25, in the faculty of Philology, with the initiative of Gunel Pashayeva – a teacher of the department of Azerbaijani language and its teaching methods, a scientific seminar was held called “The story of uncompleted life” dedicated to Bekir Chobanzade’s 125th anniversary who was a poet, turkologist, linguist, text critic and had indispensable services in development of Azerbaijani language and literature. Dean of philology faculty Sevinj Hamzayeva, head of foreign languages department Professor Nigar Isgandarova, head of pedagogy and psychology department docent Aytakin Mammadova, senior lecturer of Azerbaijani language and its teaching methods department Elnara Ahmadova, teacher LeylaAliyeva and senior laboratory worker Matanat Aghasiyeva attended the event.
Head of Azerbaijani language and its teaching methods department Boyukkhanim Eminli opening the meeting emphasized the significance of the seminar and thanked to Gunel Pashayeva and students for organization of the seminar which expressed respect to the memory of the great scientist. Faculty students of group №901 – Jala Aghayeva, Nazrin Adigozalzade, Elnara Guliyeva, Shamayil Abdullayeva, Aytaj Mirzayeva, Aytaj Maharramli, Aynur Zulfugarova, Nilufar Yasharzade, Ramin Mehdiyev and others delivered speeches about the scholar’s life and creation, scientific-pedagogical activities, struggle for the transition of the Turkish people to the new alphabet, as well as active works in preparation of armed rebellion against USSR, his connection with intelligence agencies of foreign countries, his hard times in Pyatigorsk prison where he was prosecuted for being active in a rebellion against Soviet Union and his death.
In the event, the great scientist’s books were demonstrated which are preserved in an archive of Azerbaijan National Library.
Dean of philology faculty Sevinj Hamzayeva, head of foreign languages department Professor Nigar Isgandarova and head of pedagogy and psychology department docent Aytakin Mammadova expressed their thoughts and emphasized the importance of such events.
