On April 24, the first meeting was held of the project called “Establishment and Development of Quality Assurance Centers in Azerbaijani Universities” (EQAC) in the framework of Erasmus + program which was selected as a winner by European Commission. The event took place in Boulevard Hotel and the author was Baku Business University. Trainings in the framework of the project were continued in Baku Business University on April 25.
Ministry of Education of Azerbaijan Republic, 5 European high schools, university administration of 11 high schools of our country and well-known scientists in this field participated in the event. The aim of the project is establishment of Quality Assurance Centers in Azerbaijani high schools and making work principles in line with international standards.
Rector of BBU Professor Ibad Abbasov opening the event greeted the participants and guests, gave a short description about the project and wished success to all high schools participating in the implementation of the project. Then, a representative of Ministry of Education of Azerbaijan Republic Yashar Omarov noted the importance of the project for Azerbaijani universities and purposefulness of its application. Also, representatives of universities from Great Britain, Spain, Sweden and Lithuania talked about the importance of the project for a modern education system.
The first day of the event, both local and foreign partners made presentations about their universities. The universities presented their self-analysis reports. The training was conducted by George Dafoulas from Middlesex University, Luis Gomez de Membrillera from Alicante University, Victor Kordas from Sweden Institute of Technology and Diana Garlytska from Lithuania University of Applied Social Sciences.
The project manager, vice-rector for humanitarian issues docent Ramiz Huseynov and head of the International cooperation office Samira Mammadova represented our university in the event.
